The aim of the Silesian Technopolis project is to work out common educational and innovative activities for the development of High Tech industry as a basis for the local development plan. The Chamber of Commerce in Wodzisław Śląski is the initiator of the idea.

Krzysztof Dybiec, its president, submitted a letter to the Wodzisław town hall, with a proposal to join the "Silesian Technopolis Cluster". The hard core of the Cluster will consist of the Chamber of Commerce, the city of Wodzisław Śląski, the academic community of both the Silesian University of Technology and the University of Silesia in Katowice, as well as companies interested in high-tech solutions.

Owing to the participation in the project, Wodzisław Śląski and other members will be able to gain funds for common investment projects, scientific research and activities related to the implementation of the Silesian Technopolis project. All funds are to be obtained from the Regional Operational Program of the Silesia Province for years 2014-2020.
